I never intended to make a plush from the Avatar cartoon series, but a friend's birthday came up and I didn't have anything to show for it...or so I thought! I had the idea to try and make a plush Pabu using existing materials I had on hand, so this guy came about over the course of a few hours before I had to dash to work and not have access to my sewing table for a week. (I miss my sewing space already!)
I made Pabu akin to how I've made my other plush critters, but his body is more elongated, as a ferret's ought to be. I also hand-stitched the brown bars below his eyes. I wanted to give him the white fluff under his ears, and even have white craft fur, but I couldn't figure out a way to do it that wouldn't look horribly bad. Also, since I did sew this up so fast, and it was all a test, the striping on his tail doesn't match up perfectly...
All in all, I was shocked and happy with how he turned out, factors considered. If I ever have the free time, I hope to post up his pattern as well.
(Last confession: These pictures were taken with my iPad 2. I did take pictures with my regular camera, but the lighting wasn't as nice, so the flash kept going off and making it look bad, so I had to go with lower quality but better looking pictures. Maybe someday I'll get better pictures!)
