My teacher requested I put this on here when I finished, and since I finished, here it is! I'm taking a Home Décor class at BYU-Idaho and one of the last projects was a blanket or sheets of some kind. For the previous project I tried out Appliqué for the first time and fell completely in love with it, and since I've made a pieced quilt before, I decided I wanted to try making an Appliqué quilt.

The quilt was put together with Kona cotton, which I am now also in love with as it's very nice quality and behaves. The gryphons were both cut out of fabric and have Wonder Under™ adhesive ironed onto the backside so that I could then apply both to the fabric of the quilt, then I used a 'satin stitch' (just a zigzag stitch with little to zero space between stitches) to enclose the ends. This is roughly queen-sized, hence why I couldn't fit it all into my shot...but I tried!

I also included the original mock-up I put together with a doodle and Photoshop. It didn't come out exact, but I'm still amazed at how close it was! Most of all, I'm glad it's done!

Oh, finally you got it finished! I love the concept and the colors election. It's very "Medievalish".
Now, the golden traits in the original sketch... what are those? the art lines?

Yes, I colored my original sketch lines so I could better see what I wanted to do. (I had more detail in the sketches since I couldn't draw a 'plain' shape, it just kept looking terrible!) Photoshop is a lot of fun to play with when coming up with ideas for projects. ;)
