I'm taking part in a craft gift trade with some friends. Due to the previous attempt at a clay dragon I made, a friend requested I make her dragon character from my currently paused D&D game. Her dragon is a Bronze Dragon, as seen in the 3.5 edition of Dungeons and Dragons. I based the look greatly on references in the Draconomicon, which helped a great deal in this. I sadly had no clay working tools when making this, so it was made by hand, with some help from a sewing tool not at all intended for working with clay.
One works with what she's got, I guess. I'm really happy how she turned out, all things considered. The clay in question was Das clay, which I highly recommend for such projects. I used Acrylic paints to finish her, and plus they had actual metallic colors. A definite bonus for this!
Oh, the items she's holding are a wand (perhaps stave, depending!), a crystal ball, and a spellbook. The character in question is fascinated by human magics so I thought it would be fun to depict her engrossed in the study of such odd artifacts.
Ah, very cool! How did you got the golden paint? Clay tends to absorb a lot. I also find funny the dinosaur like head. Having realistic models make the result more accurated.
I bought metallic Acrylic paint so it already had the 'realistic' metal appearance to it when dry. The clay I bought was air dying clay, so it was very hard when I painted it. I was a bit nervous the paint might be absorbed into the clay (since the clay likes water) but thankfully it didn't happen. It probably helped that the paint dries within a matter of minutes.
I love the artwork for dragons in the Draconomicon. It bases them very much on real animals (the body is like a cat's, for example), including dinosaur-like features. It was a lot of fun recreating it.

Each of them is handmade out of clay and less than two inches tall. They are cute!
